Child Bluebell Photography – Having a photography session of your child in the bluebells can be one of the most beautiful locations for the year. In Surrey we are so lucky to have such a plethora of bluebells. These wild flowers that are a sign that you’re in ancient woodlands. You want your child to have beautiful portraits to capture their rosy cheeks and big bright eyes. Woodlands with a floor of bluebells gives their photography session an enchanting, timeless and magical feel.
Sometimes, to make the session more fun, costumes can be brought along to add to the enchantment of the location.
For little girls I can superimpose images of fairies or wings. Its a fun game to tell them that the fairies are there, though we can’t see them. But sometimes they appear in the photograph later. It’s always good to spread the fun.

Child Bluebell Photography isn’t just for kids. You don’t have to be walking and skipping to enjoy the bluebell scenery. If your baby is sitting up, they’re just the right height for stunning bluebell photography. Bluebells look good for boys and girls, they’re just enchanting. These session take place in May, and are conducted an hour before sunset.
Bluebells are very special, and great care must always be taken when using them for photography sessions. If bluebells are crushed or damaged or picked, that will prevent the bulb from blooming again next year and they are a protected species. Bluebells should never be picked, as it’s bad for them and against the law. Wellies for walkers and robust pushchairs are essential to get to the location. Please make sure your child has had a nap, well rested the previous evening or not had an exhausting day. These photographs will last a lifetime.
